Jordi wins Get Out of the Garage competition

Jordi van Dyk will indeed Get Out of the Garage in the next few months as he heads to London to introduce his unique South African taste of music to the rest of the world. 
 
The bands who entered vied for a chance to play at Rocking the Daisies, perform at London's iconic *100 Club and record at Rubber Tracks in New York City.
 
A staggering 324 acts submitted their singles to be judged by our three music aficionados; Catherine Grenfell, Reason and Jon Savage - who cut the list down to 10 of the best.
 
A total of 7 403 votes were cast for Mzansi's hottest unsigned acts in 2013, while the winning act received an impressive 1 872 votes!
 
Jordi van Dyk is the 2013 winner of the Converse #Play100Club campaign and will indeed Get Out of the Garage in the next few months as he heads to London to introduce his unique South African taste of music to the rest of the world. 
 
Converse will announce the winning fan to accompany Jordi to London on Facebook and via Twitter.
 
Who is Jordi?
 
The KwaZulu-Natal based musician is a talented, 22 year old singer-songwriter who performs a folk-based style of indie pop reminiscent of Bon Iver and S. Carey.
 
Hs passion for music started when he was just 5 years old and he has played in numerous bands since the age of 12.
