Kelly Khumalo who was never a stranger to tabloid headlines has been a talk of the town since the release of her late baby daddy’s documentary on Netflix, Senzo Meyiwa: Murder Of A Soccer Star. Fans have been pointing fingers at Kelly who continues to receive suspicions and backlash from social media users.

The soccer player who played for Orlando Pirates and was captain of the national football team Bafana Bafana was gunned dead at 27 years old outside Kelly Khumalo’s mother’s home in Vosloorus on the East Rand on October 2014, and nearly a decade later, there’s still no conviction for his brutal murder but speculations on who the killer might be keeps resurfacing.
Singer and songwriter

Kelly Khumalo has been suspect number one to South Africa football fans and many are calling up on cancel culture to go in full effect against her. A number of Twitter users were approaching all promoters who've booked Kelly for upcoming shows to cancel her bookings and for fans that are ticket holders of any Kelly show to seek refunds for their tickets until the star “admits” everything she knows about the murder of Senzo Meyiwa.

Fans feel like she has involvement in this murder because she was Meyiwa’s girlfriend when he was murdered and it happened at her home while she was also present.

Kelly Khumalo has, however, been letting the law take its course and refrains from commenting on anything that includes this case and fans' speculations. Instead, the star is living her best life and continues to gig at every chance she gets.

The only person who’s commented on this is her sister Zandi Khumalo. Zandi spoke to a journalist ahead of the premiere of the Meyiwa docu-series and shared “I don’t think there’s anything a documentary can do to help the situation, it’s people just making money out of an unfortunate situation and I don’t need to clear my name for anything.”
“Nobody approached me. No feelings really. I don’t even know what it’s really about so it’s hard for me to feel anything. All I’m hoping is that my name won’t be on the doccie without my consent because then I will have a problem. However, my management did get in touch with Netflix management about that part. I will await feedback from them,” she said.

It has been confirmed though by her lawyers that should she be called under oat, she is ready to verify her honesty. Magdalene Moonsany who’s Kelly’s representative told Enca, "That will depend on the prosecution, if the prosecution requires her as a witness in court, she is a witness in the matter and she is being compliant and cooperative in the matter, So if she is required to be present in court then she will be" said Magdalene Moonsamy
From a bunch of opinions shared across social media, one main argument that keeps resurfacing is that Kelly Khumalo is being favoured by Mzansi and by the law because she is a woman. Tweeps are saying that had she been a man, she would have been prosecuted a while ago.
