Social media can be unpredictable at times and Lasizwe can attest to that. The star found himself in the firing line for comments he made about 10 years ago on homosexuality as well as media personality Somizi Mhlongo.

Lasizwe is an openly and proud homosexual who is always in tune with his feminine side. Did you see his breathtaking SAFTA red carpet outfit? He looked dazzling.
Hence the reaction when tweeps caught wind of his 2011 and 2013 tweets which insinuate that he was homophobic. Or at least throwing shade - well, the whole tree at gay people.
"OMG there are so many gay people on Twitter, aeyo I feel sick, the pictures they post OMG, not that I'm against them," he tweeted at the time.
Another tweet which was from 2011 sees a disgusted Lasizwe accusing Somizi of being part of the illuminati. Despite what anybody might feel about these tweets and how they view them, we cannot ignore the fact that Lasizwe was in fact a very young kid who was not even famous at that time. The comedian was 13 years old and probably did not know any better.
This is not the first time the YouTuber saw himself getting dragged for making offensive statements. That time his big sister Khanyi Mbau had to step in and defend her baby brother.
In 2019, Nomzamo Mbatha posed with an alleged abuser Arthur Mafokate after the whole Cici incident happened. Lasizwe then started retweeting tweets from people who defended Nomzamo Mbatha. He was then called all sorts of names but his sister came to his defense saying he is just a child.
"He is a child, when an adult calls him for a picture it would be hard for him to decline! I don’t think he meant any harm but just being a child. It was a moment of ignorance. Forgive him," Khanyi said. Of course people did not accept what she said because Lasizwe was 21 years old so he probably knew better at the time.
"Wait.... how old is this child? Lasizwe is a grown man and not some 5 year old. Don't justify nonsense Khanyi. Your reasoning/excuse is actually funny," said one tweep.
"Ingane? At 21? His peers are activists and doing big things and uthi he's a child?" another questioned.
"Even children have to take responsibility for their actions, we raise them to be accountable adults, that argument of ‘he is a child’ does not hold water anymore sis."
