Lerato Marabe broke into the industry when she was 11-years-old and although she's experienced the downside of fame, the Skeem Saam actress is grateful to have a supportive boyfriend.
Having a life outside of the show has not been easy for the actress, in a recent interview with Drum magazine, she recalled a past experience where she got slapped by a fan at KFC.
"In high school, my friends and I decided to go to KFC after school. So while we were waiting in the queue, this one lady walked up to me and slapped me across the face because of the storyline at the time."
Lerato added that her shock led her to call her mother immediately, "I was so upset - I called my mother and asked her to pick me up because I just couldn't believe it"
Speaking about her relationship, she said, “my partner and I have been together for two years and he’s such an amazing person...he’s also one of the most patient people enough to deal with my personality...he refuses to go to malls with me because so many people recognize and walk up to me, but there’s honestly nothing better than having a partner who puts in the effort to be more understanding. Effort is so attractive” she said.
