Following AKA's pleas to the government to assist in the burial of recently deceased rapper, Linda ' ProKid' Mkhize, the Gauteng MEC for community safety has confirmed that they will be stepping in to assist the family in the process of laying him to rest.
Speaking outside of ProKid's family home in Jabulani, Soweto on Monday, MEC Faith Mazibuko, confirmed that she and her colleagues had been in talks with the family and would "close any gaps needed in the preparations."
A memorial service will be held in Johannesburg on Thursday ahead of his funeral. MEC Mazibuko also added that her department was working to try to secure the University of Johannesburg's Soweto campus hall for the rapper's funeral service which is scheduled to happen on Sunday.
ProKid will be buried at Heroes Acre in Westpark Cemetery, Johannesburg alongside the likes of Robbie Malinga, Joe Mafela and Mandoza.
