Lloyiso Gijana was just 16 years old when he entered the biggest singing competition locally with Idols SA. Entering the competition might have been the big break that the soulful vocalist needed despite the fact that he just made it into the Top 5 of his season back in 2015.

While he did return to school, Gijana would also use the acclaim he received to garner traction to his YouTube channel when he started the channel back in 2017. This was after going viral on social media for his and his former high school choirβs rendition of the βblack versionβ of the National Anthem.
Since then, he has been a viral sensation, with over 511k subscribers and over 69.2 million views on his channel. As such, it came as no surprise following his brief signing to Ambitiouz Entertainment, GIjana became the first South African artist to be signed to the internationally recognised record label Republic Records.
LLoyiso gets confused for Lloyd Cele and Loyiso Gola
While he has released music since his signing, it has arguably not have the type of reach that it was expected to have. More so considering that his independent release during the Uyinene Mrwetyana, was a viral sensation without the need for a marketing push.
But Lloyiso has asserted that this year is his year to finally become the star that most his already established fan base knows him to be. A fact which the public and fellow ZAlebs alike took to the comments section of his post to affirm.
However, there were some comments that were confused as to which Lloyiso was tweeting exactly. This is as one follower seemed to have confused him with Lloyd Cele, who was also an Idols SA contestant, who was married to an Indian woman.
Moreover, there were those that continued to drag the joke further as they suggested that they were confused as to whether this was Lloyiso the singer, or Loyiso Gola or Loyiso Madinga the comedians.
While Lloyiso did laugh along with his followers on the matter. A fact which he seemed to have been serious about was his booking fee. Specifically, for weddings, as the soulful singer is continually booked for weddings due to his voice. As reported at the time:
LLyosi is one of Mzansi's well decorates young musicians and he continues to leave many people mesmerized by his voice. The singer rose to fame as a contestant on Idols SA, and although he was eliminated, he never looked back. He has since made a name for himself in the music industry.
Taking to his Twitter account, the Dream About You hitmaker pleaded with netizens to rally behind him because he believes that he next big thing in the world.
βSA I need you guys to back me [up], because Iβm about to be the biggest artist in the world. Also, I need everyone to [join me] on this journey, because itβs going to change lives." via Lloyiso's tweet.
