For a very long time, Dintle Nyathi played by Mapaseka Koetle-Nyokong, has been followed by a dark cloud as bad luck became her best friend. She had been unlucky when it came to finding love and settling down, career wise she was also not finding her big break.
It was only just recently when her time came and her career took off drastically. She was also one foot in at finding eternal happiness with the love of her Quinton Nyathi, before he died. On Friday, Dintle was launching her new business venture but the night ended in tragedy. On that night, Quinton was planning on asking for her hand in marriage and had told Jewel about it.
With the introduction of the new family on the block, the Kubeka's, this saw Quinton exiting the show. Their son, Zenzele Kubeka caused an accident as his truck ploughed into the Newton building and almost hit Jewel Nyathi. Trying to save his daughter, Quinton unfortunately lost his life.
A distraught Dintle tried to wake him up at the hospital but unfortunately he was already declared dead. The emotional scene had viewers reaching for the tissue, as Dintle was finally going to have her happy ever after. This caused many to think Scandal writers dislike Dintle and do not want to see her happy.
On his exit, Brighton Ngoma told TshisaLive that his time to explore greener pastures had arrived and he had to cease the opportunity. “Having played the character for so long, it was only a matter of time before the journey came to its natural end. I see it as growth. I can only hope that the fans are as moved as we were when we performed the storyline. Death is sometimes the beginning of new, greater things. His newfound love for Dintle is probably the biggest heartbreak as a result of his death," he explains.
