The Amablesser hitmaker got tongues wagging on Monday 31 November 2020, after a video of him seemingly intoxicated surfaced on social media.
The video shows the musician losing his balance and unable to walk. Speaking to Daily Sun his manager Nyiko Bilankulu told the publication that he wouldn't have let the musician perform whilst he was drunk.
"With my experience, I wouldn't let Mlindo go on stage drunk. I'd rather postpone the performance or stop him from getting on stage," he said.
Nyiko said Mlindo might have been drugged after taking a drink from a fan. On Twitter, there is a video that was shared showing Mlindo taking a drink from a fan and consuming it.
"Anyway, he went on stage and started performing. During his performance, I think, he was too excited and took a drink from the crowd and drank it"
"He was fine for a while. We don't know if the drink was too strong or it was spiked, but he became drowsy," he told the paper.
He said the alcohol might have contributed to his knee pain. Speaking to SowetanLIVE recently, Mlindo debunked rumors that he was drunk and said he struggled to walk due to his old knee injury.
“I have a problem with my knees and yesterday [Monday] the venue was packed and the stage was wet,”
I was performing the last song of the evening and someone pulled me into the crowd and I couldn’t get up which is why a bodyguard had to come and pick me up,” he said
In a video, he shared on Instagram today, a male fan from Soshanguve where Mlindo was performing, could be heard saying they spiked his drink because he is stubborn.
Sharing the video Mlindo asked Soshanguve people what he has done to them to receive such horrendous treatment.
Mlindo issued an apology yesterday following the disturbing video and apologized for his actions and said next time he will act better.
"I would like to sincerely apologize to my supporters and everyone for everything that took place this past weekend, I will not get into details but I take full responsibility for my actions and I will not blame it on anyone but myself. I will be better and act better next time," he wrote on Twitter.
