The Uzalo actress recently opened up about how acting has helped her deal with her own experience of abuse.

Speaking to Tshisa Live the actress spoke of her past and that she was involved in an abusive relationship with her ex-partner.

The Uzalo actress told the publication that she had a gut feeling that things were not going to end well with them after her ex shared how he witnessed his mother getting abused at an early age.

"He told me, for the first time that his step-father abused his mother. He went on to describe the nature of the abuse..he told me he would walk into the bathroom to find a pool of blood. I remember that something inside of me told me this wasn't a good sign."

In hindsight, she mentions that that specific conversation with her ex was a warning sign which she unfortunately ignored.

She then encouraged all women to always listen to their intuition in such circumstances as their intuition is never wrong.
