During his breakfast show "Phat Joe and the Family" on Radio 2000, Phat Joe questioned the decision to select Anele Mdoda as a beauty pageant judge and suggested that her appointment was “affirmative action”.
Enraged, the #947BreakfastClub host didn’t hold back, in a series of tweets she hit back at Phat Joe, labelling him a piece of sh*t, who cannot hold down a job.
Penny jumped in, slamming Phat Joe for mocking Anele’s appointment as a Miss SA 2019 judge.
This week, however, Phat Joe invited Penny to be a guest on his show and the two seem to have kissed and made up.
During their chat on his breakfast show, Phat Joe apologised for his role in their issues and even admitted to giving her a hard time during the early years of her career. Fans of Phat Joe and Penny applauded them for squashing their issues.
Penny said she found the interview liberating and told Move Magazine, “I have a newfound respect for Joe. I am grateful for the moment. It freed me. It put an old ghost to bed.”
Penny and Phat Joe are no strangers to controversy. Recently Penny found herself on the receiving end of Twitter backlash after she referred to Babes Wodumo as a “ticking time bomb”.
While Phat Joe was lambasted for his gay comment. "I don't understand why they [gays] can't accept that it's difficult for most people to accept their lifestyle."
He was suspended from his show and on his return, he offered an on-air apology for his comment.
Let's hope these two behave for the rest of the year.
