South African well known entertainment blogger, Phil Mphela, set his Twitter feed ablaze when he posted that he had it on good authority that South Africa's most loved gossip television show Real Goboza, Selimathunzi and #WTF Tumi are set to get the chop very soon. It is still not in the clear as to what extent these reports are true as there have been some really opposing posts from industry insiders.
That is 100% true. I have it on good authority that #WTFTumi and #Selimathunzi could also be on the chopping block if they aren’t already. https://t.co/oWB1pHOvli

South African businesswoman and media personality, Uyanda Mbuli responded to the claims made by Phil Mphela. Uyanda's comments hold weight as she previously worked at the SABC.
An iconic television show such Selimathunzi would unlikely get the chop as Uyanda stated in her tweet.
Selimathunzi brings in revenue🥰... It would be a bad move... Unless, the strategic direction is heading strictly towards REPEATS... Seli has always brought in revenue even way back around 2005 when I was still at SABC1 (then budgets were not constrained like now)...

In a deleted tweet, Phil had boldly stated that Real Goboza will be decommissioned going forward. This post did not sit well with a number of people as they found it misleading.
Phil has since corrected his post, by stating that Real Goboza will in fact be recommissioned.
CORRECTION: A typo has led to miscommunication on this story. The show will be RE-commissioned not DE-commissioned.

RGB is not CANCELLED according to SABC. The show/production is just on a break.
It happens. Apologies to @OfficialRGB staff. You still got jobs! pic.twitter.com/R0TJ1qy0gQ
The Real Goboza team seemed unfazed by the latest claims as they tweeted a rather enticing and reassuring post about the vague happenings on the show.
We might be quiet, but best believe we’re cooking something up.👩🏽🍳#RealGoboza @Official_SABC1

We are sitting at the edges of our seats - trying to figure what the SABC could throw our way because there are upsetting changes going around.
