Rapper AKA made a very startling revelation that the late Riky Rick turned down an offer to host The Braai Show when he got given the boot. This was after his late fiancé's death, where several brands distanced themselves from him. A spot for a rapper to host The Braai Show opened and one of the first people approached was apparently Riky Rick.

AKA took to social media to reveal that he does indeed own The Braai Show after winning his court case. With the help of his lawyers, AKA finally got back his 50% ownership rights and he did not stop there.
As an artist, he put his thoughts into a song and spoke about this issue, but had to tip his hat off at Makhado.
In the unreleased track which seems to be a diss track to Cassper Nyovest, AKA spoke about being betrayed by the people around him and how a person who kicks him at his lowest, should pray!
Part of the lyrics read, "2021 I was looking like steak, vultures all around me they said my best days were behind me. If you kick me when I'm down, pray that I don't get up to see another day."
“Shoutout to Makhado, principles, morals. They said come and host the Braai Show, he said NO WAYS!!! That’s more than I can say for your fave,” he said directing that at Cassper.
Word is, the producers of The Braai Show approached Riky Rick to host the show, but he refused. When they approached Cassper, he obviously took the job.
He then took another jab at Cassper and said, “He doesn’t have the stamina to run with the comrade,” said AKA in his lyrics.

Speaking at his former friend's memorial service, Cassper Nyovest spoke of the time they met.
“Riky and I met on Facebook. The same way Riky Rick reached out to all the kids. At one point I was also just another kid from Maftown and it wasn't really easy to move in Johannesburg, but he still had the time for me and he did that for hundreds of people after me.
“I then ended up forming a relationship with him, a friendship where we would not only talk about music but we would talk about life. One of the things that I loved about Riky was how honest he was. Riky would tell you the truth,” he said.
Although they had a fallout, Cassper said they had tried to make amends - well Riky did but he was too mad to agree. But finally they were to bury the hatchet at Cotton Fest as he would have been the surprise act.
“Me and him were not on the greatest of terms, even though we were speaking. One of the things I regret was that I wasn't able to tell him how much I loved that video and how much I loved hearing him sing again.”
