Actress Samkelo Ndlovu took time to process Lumko Johnson's death. Taking to Instagram, she penned a heartfelt message to the late TV presenter whose passing was announced last week.
Lumko's passing was announced by family members in a statement to the public.
"It is with great sadness we share the news of the untimely passing of our beloved Lumko 'Johnson' Leqela. They departed on the 14th of September 2022 following a short hospitalization. Lumko first entered the public realm as a young teenager on the popular SABC 1 YoTV platform. They went on to nurture a career in television broadcast and media at large. In their own words, Lumko was an 'Accomplished TV & Radio Super Producer, Actor, Writer and Big Deal in Most Spaces" reads the statement.
"Details on the memorial and funeral arrangements will be shared by the family in due course. The family asks that the public and media respect their privacy as they deal with this difficult loss" reads the statement.

Tributes poured in from his friends, and industry mates as well as social media users. Samkelo recently penned a message on Lumko's passing, saying she is shattered.
"It’s taken me ages to attempt to find the words or capacity to do this, and it is with a heavy broken heart that I write this. I’m so sad Lumko, My heart aches because I’ll never see you again in this life. That I’ll never hear your silly laugh or random but interesting music facts every time a song comes on.
"Your honesty and consistent care for me. That I’ll never hear you call out my full name SAMKELO NDLOVU over the phone when I answer like you always do. You saw me through this exact heartbreak when I lost Gavin and Jamie. Who should see me through this ?? THIS ??"
Samkelo continued her message by saging her child lost one of her favorite uncles.
"I’ve lost a friend, brother/sister, Zhuri has lost one of her favourite uncles. My true north, always ready to open my eyes wider with your caring honesty. Our industry has lost one of the best script writers and actors. Radio has lost one of its best producers and the LGBTQIA+ community has lost a true soldier and activist of the movement."
She ended off by thanking the TV personality.
"Thank you Lumko for you unwavering love and friendship. Thank you for choosing to spend your last few months with me. I am honoured to have known such an amazing funny stylish intelligent and sassy person. Thank you for teaching me what true bravery is. I will carry that and you with me forever. I love you deeply,
I’ll miss you so much Leqela. "

SK Khoza wrote, "I still absolutely can’t believe it, to think after hearing about it every time I slept I kept having him in my dreams, Lumko you truly were one of a Kind and I too will miss him and his honest being…Mad love and respect always, until we meet again."
