Rapper and producer, Solo has proudly announced a change in his name and his second hip hop theatre play that is set to take place at Soweto in July 2020.
After the success of The Dreamers ABC’s at Joburg Theatre in December, the production is set to return to the stage at Soweto Theatre from Tuesday 23 July – 26 July 2020. The Dreamers ABC’s is cleverly named in-line with his album trilogy which he completed with the release of C Plenty Dreams in September 2019.
This announcement comes in shortly after the rapper changed his name; Now Solo Ntsizwa Ka Mthimkhulu. Solo Ntsizwa Ka Mthimkhulu’s Production continues to be the first Hip Hop story told on stage with the narrative derived from Solo Ntsizwa Ka Mthimkhulu’s 3 albums. It is a theatrical depiction of Dreams A Plenty; Dreams B Plenty and C Plenty Dreams.
It will once again be a collaboration between himself and the Soweto Theatre, to present an artistic and modern format of storytelling in Hip Hop and theatre. The show will feature songs from all three albums with some special guests expected to join Solo for this theatre experience.
Solo Ntsizwa Ka Mthimkhulu shared his excitement with friends and media in this statement – “Evolution for artists comes in different ways, for me it is to once again show case my life narrated with hip hop and with this name change. What we have decided to do together with the Soweto Theatre, is to bring this story back to the theatre stage for a little longer. The response to our first show was incredible, I’m looking forward to bring this to a bigger audience in July.”
