TV personality Somizi Mhlongo, recently melted our hearts when he shared a video of him, encouraging South Africans to buy from street vendors to sustain them before the much-anticipated lockdown.
We are just a couple of hours away from lockdown, and consumers have been panic buying, to make sure that, they have all the necessities they need for the duration of lockdown.
The lockdown is aimed at curbing the pandemic of Covid-19, and it has resulted in a lot of businesses shutting their doors from today, and street vendors are amongst those who will be affected by this.
On Tuesday, Somizi decided to lend a helping hand and showed his good heart, when he bought a vendor's stock to show his support
In a video he posted on Instagram Somizi said, “I am doing my part and encouraging people to do their part. Go to the vendors first and support them. Buy what you can, what you need, but also what you can get at any other supermarket."
The masses have been heaping praises on his spirit of compassion. Former DA leader, Mmusi Maimane was amongst those who praised him, he said: "This is powerful. Let’s all do our part. Thank you Somizi."
