Sorry, but I’m not feeling #Ayeye

Vuzu Amp’s latest drama series seems to be a hit. The show premiered on the DSTV channel a few weeks ago and has captivated most people from day one. Ayeye boasts a star-studded cast which includes Thapelo Mokoena, Zola, Vusi Kunene and Jessica Nkosi. That’s TV gold, right? Yes!

So I guess I’m one of the few people having a hard time warming up to the series. There was too much hype around the show before it premiered and everyone was looking forward to finally seeing it. So, like most people, I watched the first episode and wasn’t really impressed.

Although the storyline is quite solid, I felt like the show failed to deliver. It was just all over the place and there was too much happening. While many people had positive things to say on Twitter after episode one, it just left me confused.

I watched the second episode and guess what? More confusion. It doesn’t seem like the show will grow on me. At least they have thousands of fans out there so my opinion will not change anything. In episode three they showed off a Twitter celeb, which goes to show that Internet fame can turn into a career I guess.

I have nothing against the show and props to them for the new drama, but I just don’t get it. It’s not worth the hype for me.
