Over the years, Tendai Mtawarira has proved to be one of South Africa's greatest sporting exports - dominating world Rugby.

The glorious tale of his time in the sport of rugby lives on even after he called time on his illustrious playing career that spanned over a decade. The Zimbabwean born former South African player was on Monday named in the World Rugby’s Team of the Decade for the decade spanning from 2010 to 2020. This solidified his status as one of the best players World Rugby has ever seen.

Mtawarira was at the centre of the Springboks’ Rugby World Cup in Yokohama, Japan, last year. The South African team cruised to a 32-12 win over England in the final to claim their third crown as World Cup champions. Speaking on the Rugby World Cup win the Beast said:

“I think winning the [2019] World Cup was really special, especially with Siya as a black captain.

“It brought the country together. I had no idea what it really meant to the country until we actually got to South Africa and did the trophy tours around the country. So many people came out to cheer the moment, that’s when I realised that this thing has just really impacted the entire country.
