Last season left Mzansi Magic viewers on the edge of their seats as they grappled with questions about what would happen to the Lockdown characters they had become invested in. Season 2 began on a great note last night and here are a few thoughts I had during the episode...
1. Tyson lost her brother and the warden (Beauty) is making her loss all about her??! WOW
2. Yes Tyson! Show Beauty what you could have done if you wanted to!
3. Yoh (as MaZet slapped the prisoner who couldn’t get all her loot)
4. Oh my soul (as they brought the new prisoner, Maki Magwaza, played by Linda Sebezo, in and she almost broke free)
5. Beauty is getting too cocky for her own good…
6. Yay! Nkuli (MaZet's daughter played by Busisiwe Mtshali) is getting out!
7. Lol Sharon, oh how the tables have turned
8. When Mbali (played by Nomzamo Mbatha) said “they pissed on my bed, they shat on my pillow and they spat in my food...”
9. Vicky (that girl who got burned by the porridge) is testing Nomonde? Haibo, hasn’t she learned?
10. Here comes Pamela Nomvete!! Like a boss (with music by the ever-so-talented Nelisiwe Sibiya)
11. The warden’s attempt to coerce her staff by reminding them that they committed a crime with her is a bit desperate…
12. Ah! I’m so happy to see Pamela Nomvete back on screen!
Like a boss….
13. Yes Deborah! Remind Beauty that she f***ed up
14. Awww MaZet and Nkuli made up…
15. … but she didn’t make it into varsity (some people know how it stings to get that letter that states “we regret to inform you”)
16. Oh poor Njabulo, he was just trying to help.
17. Wow, Beauty is a little out of touch with reality
18. Hayi, this new prisoner (Maki) really is terrifying. She might just replace that witchdoctor from Shaka Zulu
19. Haibo, who is MaZet having tortured now? (and why)?
20. Yoh engathi kuzoshuba manje….
21. This image is going to be stuck in my mind for a while…
