The theme for this year's Durban July was Butterflies and Mzansi personalities did not disappoint when it came to their outfits despite the fact that this year's horsing event was held without the usual glitz and glamour.
Masks were the real show stoppers when it came to this year's fashion looks and since they have become the number one fashion accessory due all thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, designers made sure not to hold back.
Makeup artist Diva Cadach teamed up Durban designer Sistas Feka to create a mask that screamed butterflies, drama and all things extraordinaire. The masterpiece was pink in colour and had white pearls and butterflies on the sides.
The colour pink was chosen specifically as Divah wanted something that would allow him to come out of his shell and bring out the best of him, as he usually wears nudes and blacks.
Speaking to ZAlebs, Diva Cadach explained that "being the larger than life personality, I was like let's go all out because to me a butterfly is something that can transform anytime and it can be anything it wants to be anything it and that was my interpretation of the theme that you can be anything you want to be. Allow your inner self to shine."
Diva Cadach is not the only personality who made sure to execute the theme, actress Linda Mtoba, Nolusindiso Mchunu, Krayzi K, Melody Molale and Nomsa Madida all came to play with their butterfly masks.
