Every now and again, certain brands become synonymous with certain celebrities. Gert-Johan Coetzee, for example, has been known for many years as Bonang's go-to designer. David Tlale has been a favourite for celebrities like Azania Mosaka, Siphokazi and others, while we've known Simphiwe Dana to prefer Clive Rundle, especially for her album sleeve shoots, and Penny Lebyane's love for Thula Sindi is public knowledge.

As it stands, however, two relatively young brands seem to be popping up a lot more than others on the red carpets of South Africa. Are they just the flavour of the moment or will we continue to see them playing at this high level?

Quitera & George

This impressive duo only started their brand in 2013, and have since attracted the attention of celebrities including Dineo Moeketsi, Chichi Letswalo, and even Bonang. And why not, they seem to be riding the wave high and delivering every single time!

Orapeleng Modutle is another brand that can't possibly be accused of not delivering. While the signature tends to be very bridal, it often works perfectly for the red carpet, where celebrities like Minnie Dlamini, Lorna Maseko, and most recently, Nigerian personality Toke Manikwa have been seen shining in the young Kimberley native's bold, and beautiful creations.
