There seems to be a light emerging at the end of the tunnel for the sixteen sacked Generations cast members who were fired by their executive producer, Mfundi Vundla last week.

The nation didn’t realise the serious magnitude of the Generations dispute until the ANC and the ministers of communication intervened. Just yesterday Arts and  Culture minister, Nathi Mthethwa shed light on the situation and assured Generations fans that attempts to get the actors back to work for the soapie had been going smoothly.

“We are proud to announce that we have been able to open talks between the SABC and the actors after a difficult week of high emotion, tension and conflict that made it hard for the parties to find each other.” He said.

According to SAPA reports, the SABC and the actors are currently willing to engage in a conversation that will help both parties find a solution to a matter that reached boiling point last week when Mfundi axed the cast members who were demanding higher wages.

“This marks a turning point in that all the parties have committed to a meeting that will take place in the next 24 hours at the SABC to explore possibilities of reinstating the actors” –  Said Mthethwa

A lot of ego from both parties has been clouding people's judgment with regards to this whole Generations debacle, hopefully some form of agreement will be reached; everybody has a family to feed at the end of the day.

We’re a bit curious about what will then happen to Thato Molamu who plays the role of Nicholas on the soapie. The actor had already landed himself a new job as host of new gaming show What’s Behind The Wall?

Honestly this whole back and forth Generations quarrel is starting to bore us can the actor’s just get on set so the cameras can start rolling again?
