Lloyd says being in an interracial marriage helped him to understand exactly what liberation means and made him appreciate it even more.
“I still receive a lot of negativity, but knowing where we come from makes me want to fight this so we can become a better country,” Lloyd told TEAMtalk Media.
He continued to say: “This album is dedicated to the diversity of our country. I have a song that I dedicated to the peace icon, Nelson Mandela, on which I collaborated with the Soweto Gospel Choir.”
For this album Lloyd collaborated with talented musicians such as Brian Themba, CH2 and Cassper Nyovest.
“I also have an Afrikaans song that Kurt Darren helped me put together. I believe in embracing the differences that our country offers and in that way we can get along very well. My music and my life symbolises that,” Lloyd added.
The album - which includes genres like Maskanda, Pop and of course RnB - will be released on the 22 September 2014 and will be available for download on iTune on 19 September.
