Namibian golden girls Beatrice Masilingi and Christine Mboma caused quite a frenzy today, as they kicked off their celebratory homecoming tour. The athletes raised the Namibian flag high at the Tokyo Olympics 2021 finals last week.

Christine won a silver medal in the women's 200m finals. Ever since she entered the competition, Mboma was dedicated and her hard work paid off when she finished at 21.81 and earned second place. Masilingi came in sixth place and she finished at 22,28 seconds.
During their homecoming tour, the athletes were welcomed by Namibian President Hage Geingob who took to social media to gush about their achievements.
"Our brave athletes and team that participated in the #TokyoOlympics2020 received a warm Namibian welcome for their brilliant efforts. During a dinner in their honor, I thanked the whole team and again congratulated Christine for bringing home a silver medal in the 200M!," he tweeted.
Celebrating her achievement Mboma shared, "Thanks you GOD for all the countless blessings you have given me in every step of life. I feel grateful to get a silver medal at my first Olympic game and represent my country @tokyo2020 Olympics. Thank you couch @henk.botha.104 for making it possible for me,"
