A new appointment announced on Wednesday has been met with approval from political figures and supporters, particularly in Abeokuta South Constituency II, where the appointee, Jiboku, is from.
Backers said he has a track record of party loyalty and hands-on grassroots work, pointing to his experience in engaging communities and building support at the local level.
In his first response to the development, Jiboku thanked Governor Abiodun for assessing him as worthy of the role. He framed the selection as an invitation to deepen his public service, adding that he intends to live up to the confidence placed in him by both the governor and the people of Ogun State.
“I am deeply honoured by this appointment. I thank Governor Dapo Abiodun for the trust and confidence placed in me. This appointment is not just for me alone, but for the people of Abeokuta South Constituency II and everyone who believes in our collective progress,” Jiboku said.
He also told residents and other stakeholders that he would continue to commit himself to the principles of good governance, loyalty, and service to the public.
Jiboku further said the appointment would spur him to take a more active role in shaping and supporting government policies and programmes designed to improve citizens’ welfare across the state.
