Denmark’s Anders Lind wrote himself into WTT Contender Lagos history on Saturday, winning a second straight Men’s Singles crown by beating Korea Republic’s Oh Junsung 4-1 in a one-sided final at Molade Okoya-Thomas Hall, inside Teslim Balogun Stadium.
The 27-year-old, appearing in Lagos for the third time, set the tone immediately and kept control throughout against Junsung. Using a mix of speed and accuracy, Lind repeatedly forced errors early and maintained pressure, turning the contest into a dominant display that secured a landmark triumph.
Women’s final: Japan’s Odo overthrows Hashimoto
In the Women’s Singles decider, Japan’s Satsuki Odo dethroned compatriot and reigning champion Honoka Hashimoto, winning 4-1 to bring an end to her predecessor’s title run.
Odo—who was the top seed for the event—managed to break through Hashimoto’s resistance across four tightly contested games before gradually pulling away. Her attacking approach proved decisive, proving too aggressive for the defending champion’s defensive style and denying her the chance to lift a second consecutive Lagos trophy.
What it means for WTT Contender Lagos
Together, the twin finals delivered contrasting storylines: Lind’s back-to-back achievement in the Men’s event and Odo’s efficient dismantling of the defending champion in the Women’s competition. The result capped a WTT Contender Lagos 2026 that continues to strengthen its reputation as a key proving ground for table tennis’s top players.
