Senator Adeola won the party primary with 304,055 votes, defeating fellow contender Mr. Abayomi Hunye, who received no votes.
In a congratulatory message shared with reporters, Daytayo framed Yayi’s decisive win as evidence of the senator’s standing, describing it as a measure of the confidence, acceptance and broad popularity he enjoys among APC members and residents across Ogun State.
Daytayo said supporters and loyalists of Senator Yayi in Odogbolu received the result with enthusiasm, celebrating through songs, dancing and public jubilation, which he characterised as a triumph for progressive politics and strong grassroots leadership.
He added that Yayi’s leadership attributes, political experience and dedication to improving people’s welfare have won him favour among party members throughout the state, and he argued that the outcome points to a more promising period for Ogun State.
The APC figure also praised party officials and members for conducting the primary in a calm and transparent manner, calling the exercise both historic and deserving of commendation.
Daytayo reiterated his loyalty to the YAYI 2027 agenda, assuring APC members and supporters in Odogbolu that they would continue to mobilise large-scale backing for the party ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
He expressed confidence that Senator Adeola would maintain the development momentum associated with the current APC administration and provide governance that delivers tangible benefits for the people of Ogun State.
