Nigerian boxers Olanrewaju Durodola, Temitope Ademulere and Samson Kazeem are preparing to take their careers abroad, with plans for fights in the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia following their wins at the “Fight for Liberty” event in Lagos on 4 July.
Their promoter, Prizefightingng TV, said on Monday that the trio have made their mark at home and are now ready to test themselves against high-level opposition overseas. However, the organisation did not confirm any specific bouts, dates or venues as negotiations are still at an early stage.
Durodola, a former WBC Silver cruiserweight title-holder and a 2008 Olympian, comes into the next phase with a professional record of 51 victories and 10 defeats, including 45 wins by knockout. Ademulere, meanwhile, is unbeaten in six pro contests and has stopped every opponent he has faced, while Kazeem has moved up to 12 wins with 11 knockouts and remains undefeated.
In the United States, Prizefightingng TV indicated it wants to stage a match-up pairing Durodola with Badou Jack, Ademulere with Richardson Hitchins and Kazeem with former world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder. In the UK, Richard Riakporhe has been named as a potential opponent for Durodola, with Jack Catterall lined up as an option for Ademulere and Fabio Wardley listed for Kazeem.
For Australia, unified cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia is identified as Durodola’s preferred opponent. Ademulere is also targeting a fight with Liam Paro, while Kazeem is pursuing a meeting with Justis Huni.
Prizefightingng TV added that talks with international promoters are ongoing, and it will provide further information on the overseas campaign once agreements are finalised.
