Nigeria’s D’Tigers forward Chimezie Metu has signed with Turkish powerhouse Galatasaray ahead of the new season.
Galatasaray moved quickly to add Metu after his standout run with Spanish club Gran Canaria, where he posted averages of 14.1 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.
Metu has built a reputation as one of the continent’s top basketball talents, and the 26-year-old is expected to become an important piece of Galatasaray’s plans as the Istanbul side take on challenges in both the Turkish Basketball Super League and European competitions.
The switch marks another major step in an already impressive professional journey, and it is set to be warmly received by D’Tigers supporters who will be looking for him to carry over the same form that has defined his recent performances.
