South African hitmaker Makhadzi is marking a major life milestone: turning 30—and she’s also sharing that she’s in the middle of creating the home she’s always wanted.
Only days after celebrating her birthday, the award-winning singer posted a series of images on Instagram showing the progress of a six-month build, offering fans a look at the project she says has been in her plans for years.
In reflecting on the journey, Makhadzi explained that long ago she pictured herself leaving her parents’ house in her village by the time she reached her 30th year. Now, she says that vision is finally coming to fruition.
“Sometimes years back, I used to ask myself what the plan was for my 30th—and the only thing that came to mind was moving out of my parents’ house in the village. My 30th arrived, and all the manifestations are happening. This is my six-month project… mosadi ke stina.”
She also reiterated that she always believed she would one day build her dream home, framing it as something that would happen when the timing was right.
“I knew one day I’m going to build my dream house—it was just a matter of time. Congratulations to me, I’m really proud of myself.”
Makhadzi didn’t just celebrate the progress of the construction—she also used the moment to thank her dedicated supporters, affectionately called the Khadzinators, crediting them for helping make her success possible.
She encouraged everyone who has backed her along the way to feel comfortable in her new home once it’s finished, adding that she chose to put her money into something meaningful rather than blowing it on unnecessary luxuries.
“This is your home—don’t come with a hungry stomach. Don’t forget you raised me. I just didn’t want to disappoint you by using my money on stupid things. All of this happened because of you, Khadzinators.”
The update sparked a wave of congratulations from fans and other celebrities, with many praising the artist for staying grounded as her career continues to grow, and for using her achievements as motivation for others.
From her roots in Limpopo to becoming one of South Africa’s most successful performers, Makhadzi’s latest milestone underscores just how far she’s traveled.
