Manchester United have finalized the capture of midfielder Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa, agreeing a five-year contract.
The deal was completed after United triggered a release clause worth £35 million for the 29-year-old, who has recently been involved as Belgium pushed through to the World Cup quarter-finals.
Tielemans arrives after three seasons with Aston Villa. Before that, he entered the Premier League in 2019 when he joined Leicester City, marking his move to English football.
Speaking after the announcement, Tielemans said: “It’s hard to describe just how proud I am to join Manchester United. Signing for such a special club feels incredible.
“It is the culmination of years of dedication since I first fell in love with football.”
