We are still healing from the recent passing of stalwart broadcaster and former Asikhulume Let's Talk host, Xolani Gwala after he lost his brave fight with colon cancer.
We have learnt that Neyi Zimu has been fighting his own battle with another type of cancer that is attacking his skin.
It has been a tough few months for the family of the Jehova Re Tshepile Wena hitmaker.
Calls for prayers are coming from fellow gospel artists and friends to speak healing into the performers life.
While the family did not confirm when he was first diagnosed, changes to his skin became visible earlier in the year.
His condition progressed rather quickly affecting his ability to honour appearances to promote his album.
Recently, Neyi was scheduled to perform in Polokwane but was again unable to and his brother finally broke the silence and told fans what was happening. "Neyi has a very rare skin cancer, we thought it was something small until the diagnosis," Silas Zimu said.
Neyi Zimu is being treated at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital and is said to be under excellent treatment with specialists and doctors looking after him 24/7. Julius Malema, CIC of the Economic Freedom Fighters is also confident he's doing better.
We pray he makes a speedy recovery.
