Adegun assigns mobilisation role
In his address, Adegun thanked party members for turning out in large numbers to back Tinubu and Yayi. He said he had set up the polling-unit “strikers” to support every APC candidate in the forthcoming election cycle.
He explained that the group’s task would be to return to their respective polling units, promote the APC’s message and persuade voters to support the party. Adegun called for stronger commitment to securing substantial votes for the candidates.
The former councillor also argued that the APC’s record in office would prevent the party from losing in 2027. He appealed to members of the ward to support Tinubu, Adeola, Afuape and Adeyemi in the general elections.
Leaders highlight APC record and grassroots work
Afuape urged the polling-unit organisers to remain dedicated to mobilising broad support for Tinubu, Yayi and other APC candidates. He said the party had delivered for residents of the state, citing progress in the economy, infrastructure and security, among other areas.
Fagbenro praised Adegun for launching the initiative, saying it would reinforce grassroots mobilisation and help secure votes for Tinubu, Yayi, Afuape and Adeyemi. He urged the volunteers to pursue the programme’s goals with sustained effort.
Akintunde, who is also the APC leader in Ward 10, said he was encouraged by the size of the gathering. In his view, the turnout indicated that members were prepared for the elections.
He said he had supported residents of the ward through empowerment programmes, adding that 120 party members had received assistance during the preceding two weeks. Akintunde asked the polling-unit teams to engage voters directly and persuade them to choose the APC.
Delu thanked the party leaders present for their backing since the programme began. He said the initiative was designed to promote the APC’s candidates and generate significant votes for them. Delu added that he had also inaugurated polling-unit teams in his own ward, while Ward 10 was being led by Adegun.
Adegun calls for results beyond expectations
In his closing remarks, Adegun told the polling-unit mobilisers to exceed the expectations of party leaders and APC candidates by winning additional support, votes and victories across the board.
The mobilisation programme was presented under the title: “2027: Adegun Inaugurates Polling Unit Strikers in Abeokuta South, Mobilises Support for Tinubu, Yayi, Others.”
