Hon. Akinyemi has appealed to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abeokuta South to stay loyal to the party’s principles and work together to build a stronger grassroots organisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He made the appeal during an interview with journalists in Abeokuta over the weekend, urging party supporters to mobilise behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC’s Ogun State governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, widely known as Yayi.
Akinyemi said the Ogun APC had reaffirmed Adeola as its candidate for the 2027 governorship contest, making it essential for all party members to unite behind his bid to become governor. He said cooperation among members would be central to securing the party’s desired result in the wards, local government areas and across the state.
The APC chieftain also encouraged members to take the party’s message directly to communities, speak with voters and maintain a close relationship with residents at the grassroots. He called for stronger dedication from both party leaders and members, saying coordinated efforts and continuous mobilisation would become increasingly important as preparations for the elections advance.
Akinyemi said a cohesive party structure would improve the APC’s prospects of achieving what he called a landslide victory for its candidates in the different elective contests scheduled for 2027.
He also praised Adeola for what he described as his developmental achievements, both within his constituency and elsewhere in Ogun State. Akinyemi acknowledged Yayi’s assistance to party members, as well as his focus on grassroots development and the wellbeing of residents.
The aide to Governor Dapo Abiodun urged APC members in the local government to remain united, disciplined and dedicated to the party while preparations continue. He said they should work collectively to expand and consolidate the APC’s presence among voters at the grassroots.
