A strategic political meeting was held on Sunday at the residence of Hon. Amosun in Kemta, Abeokuta—Ogun State’s administrative capital.
Purpose of the meeting and push for grassroots organisation
Organisers said the gathering was convened to deepen the movement’s grassroots framework and keep political awareness active in support of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship contender, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola—widely known as YAYI.
The coordinators attending the session were drawn from Wards 1 through 15. They were reminded that their role includes maintaining close contact with members and residents within their communities, and ensuring that the grassroots structure remains effective on the ground.
- Coordinators represent Wards 1 to 15 in Abeokuta South.
- Each ward is said to include between 500 and 1,000 registered members.
- The leadership task includes ongoing engagement with residents and movement members.
Hon. Amosun’s remarks: coordination, not electioneering
Speaking at the meeting, Hon. Amosun described the event as another stage in the movement’s ongoing work of coordination and voter sensitisation. He said sustained interaction with grassroots participants is central to achieving the group’s political aims.
He urged the coordinators to step up mobilisation efforts through street-by-street and door-to-door outreach, while also drawing attention to Senator Adeola’s leadership qualities, legislative record, and development-focused track record.
At the same time, Amosun stressed that the meeting was not an election campaign. He pointed out that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has not yet announced the official campaign period.
- Amosun said the meeting is part of continuous coordination and sensitisation.
- He urged street-to-street and door-to-door mobilisation.
- He clarified it is not election campaigning because INEC has not set the campaign start date.
He added that the movement would keep educating, organising, and mobilising its members strictly within legal boundaries until formal electioneering begins.
Support for Adeola and unity within the APC
Hon. Amosun told participants he was confident in Senator Adeola’s ability to provide effective and purposeful leadership for Ogun State. He characterised Adeola as an experienced, capable, and people-oriented figure, citing a history of representation and development initiatives.
Amosun also urged members of the movement to remain united, disciplined, and committed to APC ideals. He called for continued support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election and for Senator Adeola’s governorship bid in the 2027 elections.
Attendance and reaffirmed commitments
Coordinators from all 15 wards of Abeokuta South attended the meeting. They reaffirmed their dedication to widening the movement’s reach and strengthening grassroots mobilisation throughout the local government area.
