APC Names 560 Grassroots Ambassadors in Abeokuta North Ahead of 2027

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated 560 grassroots ambassadors in Abeokuta North Local Government Area as part of efforts to reinforce the party’s ward structure and widen its mobilisation network ahead of the 2027 elections.

The ambassadors were inducted on Thursday at a political mobilisation event held in Ibara Orile Ward 16. APC leaders said the programme would strengthen the party’s presence at polling-unit level and improve its ability to organise supporters across all 16 wards of the local government.

Chief Bode Mustapha, an APC chieftain, said the inauguration marked an important stage in building a more coordinated and efficient grassroots campaign for the 2027 polls. He also voiced confidence in the party’s candidates, describing them as individuals with records of performance who could respond to the needs of voters.

“From the President to the senator and the other candidates, I regard them all as performers, and I have great confidence in them,” Mustapha said. He added that the APC would secure a decisive victory in Abeokuta North.

Mustapha praised the local APC leadership, saying effective direction and a well-organised party structure would be central to the party’s preparations and electoral prospects.

The chairman of the APC in Abeokuta North, Alhajia Faidat Sarumi Akintunde, urged the newly appointed ambassadors and other members to maintain unity and cooperate in the effort to deliver every ward in the local government to the party.

She said the organisation’s principal challenge was to turn its mobilisation activities into votes throughout the area. “They must work together before the election so that the APC can prevail in every ward, from Ward One through Ward Sixteen,” she said.

Hon. Olumide Osoba, who represents the Odeda/Obafemi Owode and Abeokuta North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, described local party members as the base on which the APC’s electoral performance rests.

Osoba said elected officials and senior party figures relied on the dedication and personal sacrifices of members working in communities and at polling units. He thanked them for carrying out the groundwork, saying that without their efforts, party leaders and representatives would not have reached their current positions or been able to carry out their responsibilities.

The lawmaker also pledged to sustain contact with party members and said he would continue to support their welfare as well as the progress of the constituency.

Prince Ifekayode Akinbode, chairman of the APC in the Oke-Ogun Community of Abeokuta North, said the launch of the 560 ambassadors showed that the party was preparing to contest the 2027 elections from the community level upward.

He said the APC would build substantial support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, widely known as Yayi, and the party’s other candidates. In his view, opposition parties would encounter serious difficulties in Abeokuta North because the APC already had an established organisation across the local government.

“We will secure victory for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for Yayi and for every APC candidate in all 16 wards of Abeokuta North,” Akinbode declared.

He further predicted that Adeola would win the Ogun State governorship election, arguing that the party’s expanding activity in communities and around polling units would ultimately be reflected in its vote totals.
