Ward 8 Youth Leader Comrade Abubakar Abdul Wahab appealed to party members to reject conduct that could cause internal division. He said the ward had built a strong sense of solidarity and should preserve that spirit.
“The people here care for one another, so we have to remain together and avoid fighting among ourselves,” Wahab said.
He also said his office covered every young person in the ward, not members of a particular faction or support organisation. All ward members, he added, should receive the same consideration and access to opportunities.
“I serve as the youth leader of the ward, not of one group. Everyone in the ward will get what they are entitled to,” he said.
Ward Chairman Hon. Taofeek Agbogunleri said similar meetings would be held regularly to promote discussion, consultation and mobilisation. He said sustained contact was vital to building the party’s strength at community level.
“We intend to convene from time to time because members need to meet, exchange views and make progress together,” Agbogunleri said.
He further asked all Ward 8 members to join the different support groups campaigning for Senator Olamilekan Adeola, known as Yayi, to become the APC’s governorship candidate in 2027.
Agbogunleri said each member should participate in one of the groups backing Yayi’s bid for the election.
He cautioned that the effort to secure Yayi’s emergence should not be handled by only a small number of people. The youths, he said, must take responsibility for the mobilisation campaign and work collectively toward that objective.
“For now, we young people have to unite and make sure Senator Yayi emerges,” he declared.
Speaking at the gathering, APC Youth Leader for Abeokuta North Local Government, Hon. Kabir Ayoola, promised to deal with youths across the wards in an open and equitable manner. He also encouraged young members to attend ward youth meetings consistently, describing them as a foundation for efficient grassroots coordination.
Ayoola portrayed Senator Yayi as a politician whose commitments are matched by delivery. “Yayi speaks and acts. Our governor-in-waiting is thoroughly progressive,” he said.
He also expressed confidence in Ward 8’s youth leadership, saying he had strong faith in the ward youth leader.
Assistant Ward Youth Leader Durogbade Adewale thanked party leaders and members for attending and supporting the meeting. He said regular ward meetings were important to the APC’s development and urged members to treat attendance as a priority.
Wale also acknowledged the contributions of APC Chairman in Abeokuta North, Alhaja Faidat Sarumi Akintunde, Hon. Olayiwola Ojodu, Dr. Watt, Hon. Abiodun Animasahun, Hon. Abioye Monsuru, Hon. Waheed Komolafe, Hon. Monsuru Odewole and other party leaders.
He said stronger cooperation between party officials and grassroots members would help reinforce the APC as it prepares for the 2027 elections.
