CCM Celebrates Senator Adeola at 57, Backs His 2027 Ogun Governorship Bid

The strong turnout of colourful CCM supporters at the celebration highlighted the movement’s expanding influence and its firm backing for Senator Adeola, who is preparing to seek the Ogun State governorship in the 2027 general elections.

Quick facts

  • Senator Adeola’s 57th birthday was used to reaffirm support for his leadership.
  • CCM leaders said they would build grassroots backing for his 2027 Ogun governorship bid.
  • Those highlighted included Taiwo Elewide, Odewole Oladimeji Monsuru and Kazeem Olatunji.

CCM State Chairman Alhaji Chief Taiwo Elewide, widely called “Big Champion Akile Egba”, led the show of support. He portrayed YAYI as a politician with the experience, organisational ability and local networks needed to move Ogun State forward.

Elewide said the occasion marked more than the Senator reaching 57. In his view, it gave supporters throughout the state a chance to renew their trust in Adeola’s political direction and leadership.

“YAYI is a proven and dependable political figure,” Elewide said. “At 57, he has established a record of public service and shown that he understands the people. CCM stands firmly with him, and we will keep organising at the grassroots for the road ahead.”

Alhaji Odewole Oladimeji Monsuru, known as “Tambo Kuba”, also attended the event. The chief executive of Dimofeshy Multi-Investment Nigeria Limited and CCM chairman in the diaspora said Adeola’s appeal had continued to draw supporters outside Ogun State.

Odewole pledged continued mobilisation by CCM’s diaspora structure. He said the birthday celebration provided an occasion to recognise Adeola’s accomplishments and give the movement added momentum before the 2027 political contest.

CCM chairman in Abeokuta North Local Government, Alhaji Kazeem Olatunji, popularly known as Alaga, said the large attendance showed the breadth of Adeola’s support at community level across Ogun State.

“This is not a crowd assembled for payment,” Alaga said. “They are committed people who support YAYI. CCM is structured, active and prepared. We are carrying his message into every ward, community and polling unit.”

The CCM officials again promised to reinforce the movement’s local organisation and bring more supporters into Adeola’s 2027 governorship campaign. They said the Senator’s 57th birthday had given the group fresh energy for the political contest ahead.
