Residents of Ishaga Orile have renewed their backing for YAYI, lawmaker Tella and the All Progressives Congress (APC), pledging to maintain their support ahead of the 2027 elections.
The position emerged at a community engagement held on Sunday, where traditional rulers, community representatives, political stakeholders and residents gathered in large numbers to welcome Tella.
Chief Adelani Akinbode praised Ishaga Orile’s strong attendance and commended Tella for his ongoing efforts to bring development projects and other initiatives to the area. He asked residents to keep supporting political leaders whose record, he said, reflected a commitment to the community’s progress and welfare.
The Iyalode of Ishaga Orile, Chief Mrs Mariam Ayinke Ogundapo, prayed for YAYI and Tella. She also called on residents to take an active part in elections and fulfil their civic duties.
Prince Oniyide, the Bada of Ishaga Orile, spoke about concerns connected with YAYI’s indigene status. He appealed for unity and calm, saying peaceful coexistence, respect for one another and the continuation of development efforts were essential.
Oniyide further encouraged residents to vote for the APC candidates, arguing that Ishaga Orile should be regarded as one family and that the community’s shared interests must come before personal disagreements.
Hon. Erubami Moruf, leader of the Abeokuta North legislative arm, likewise urged residents to stay resolute, united and committed to their civic obligations as the 2027 polls approach.
Adele Oba prayed for Ishaga Orile and voiced hope that the 2027 electoral process would be peaceful. He also expressed confidence that it would deliver outcomes favourable to the candidates and causes endorsed by the people.
In response, Tella thanked the people of Ishaga Orile for their sustained participation, trust and backing. The lawmaker pledged to provide effective, high-quality representation and said he would continue pressing for government-supported projects and development programmes to improve residents’ living conditions.
Other community leaders and stakeholders who addressed the gathering were Captain Ige, Prince Lekan Salako, Mr. Akin Akinosi, Mr. Sunday Dada and Chief Sola Ajayi.
