Ogun APC governorship candidate Senator Solomon Adeola has praised the sustained work of Armstrong ‘Tope Akintunde, convener of the Yayi Progressives Movement, during a gathering where selected members presented items on behalf of the group.

Adeola acknowledges mobilisation efforts
Speaking on Thursday, Senator Adeola said the contribution of the Yayi Progressives Movement to his political ambition deserved recognition.
He cited the involvement of Akintunde and other members since the movement was established, pointing to several activities, including the provision of 27 buses and a solidarity trek.
- Adeola recognised the movement’s convener and its wider membership.
- He referred to the donation of 27 buses as one of the group’s major initiatives.
- He also mentioned the solidarity trek and other mobilisation activities.
The senator thanked members for remaining committed and urged them to intensify their mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections. He said a victory for the All Progressives Congress would ultimately serve the interests of Ogun State residents.
Convener reaffirms support for Adeola
In a statement of appreciation issued on Friday, Akintunde said his support for Adeola had begun before the creation of DACA and had consistently been guided by a defined political purpose. He said residents of Ogun State were now seeing the results of that commitment.
Akintunde described Adeola, also known as Senator Solomon Adeola Olamilekan ‘Yayi’, as a father figure to many members of the movement, saying the senator had demonstrated that role in several ways. He added that the group’s support for him would not be diminished by the scale of the effort required.
He said Adeola had instructed members to build backing for every APC candidate in Ogun State, beginning before DACA was formed and continuing through the current phase of the Yayi Progressives Movement.
Akintunde said securing the election of Adeola was the movement’s central responsibility and thanked members working tirelessly toward that goal. The statement was released to journalists through the movement’s Director of Media and Communications, Comrade Oluseun Joshua.
Deputy coordinator praises leadership
The movement’s deputy coordinator, Hon. Yakubu Lookman, separately commended Adeola’s leadership and the assistance he had extended to the organisation at different levels.
Lookman also praised the movement’s leaders for giving members platforms to mobilise and cooperate in pursuit of their shared political objective of supporting Senator Solomon Adeola ‘Yayi’.
