Ogun APC Mobilisation Gets 400-Strong Canvasser Network Ahead of 2027

A support group backing Senator YAYI has inaugurated 400 canvassers to lead door-to-door and community-level mobilisation for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 elections in Ogun State.

At the inauguration ceremony in Abeokuta on Sunday, the group’s founder, Ambassador Ayomikun Azeez Ibrahim, said the canvassers would take the campaign for YAYI and other APC candidates into homes, communities and rural areas throughout the state.

Ibrahim called on the members to strengthen their grassroots outreach, arguing that the 2027 contest would demand more than rallies, political meetings and public expressions of loyalty. He said supporters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator YAYI and every other APC candidate needed to unite and provide full backing at the polls.

He said residents had observed YAYI’s work and public activities even before the senator secured the APC governorship ticket. The group, he added, should build on that record by visiting voters directly, explaining the candidate’s message and reaching communities outside the major urban centres.

Ibrahim also asked APC members and supporters to help eligible citizens who had not yet obtained their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to collect them before election day. Political enthusiasm, he said, would have no electoral effect unless it was converted into votes through the ballot.

“Singing and declarations alone will not be enough,” Ibrahim said, urging the new canvassers to educate residents about the importance of taking part in the electoral process and securing their PVCs.

Hon. Asaluola Abiola, a former chairman of the Oba Local Council Development Area and a senior consultant to the Ogun governor, urged members of Zee 1 for YAYI to work together to deliver an APC victory in 2027. He specifically tasked coordinators in each local government area with maintaining close contact with their members and ensuring that no one was excluded from mobilisation activities.

“Every coordinator must bring members along,” Abiola said. “Victory for the APC will depend on everyone working together, particularly through sustained grassroots efforts.”

Engineer Juwon Adebanjo, chairman and consultant of the Commercial Motorcycle Riders Identification Scheme (COMORIS), also highlighted the need for continuous voter education and PVC collection. He said the organisation would keep reminding its members and supporters to obtain their voter cards and take part in the election as part of their civic responsibility.

Mr Owolabi Otubu, a Zee 1 for YAYI member from Odogbolu, pledged to support the group’s community mobilisation programme. He said the canvassers would visit local communities, speak with residents and encourage them to support YAYI as well as other APC candidates.

Mrs Kehinde Kazeem, a women’s leader in Abeokuta North, called on women and other grassroots participants to become active in the exercise. She said women should carry the campaign’s message to their families, neighbourhoods and different social networks.

Mr Ayo Popoola, another leader of the Zee 1 for YAYI group, urged the newly inducted canvassers to remain dedicated to their responsibilities. Their work, he said, should extend beyond political gatherings to direct conversations with voters at the grassroots.

The report was presented under the headline “2027: Zee 1 for YAYI Inaugurates 400 Canvassers, Begins Door-to-Door Mobilisation for APC.” Its page navigation also displayed a newer-item label carrying the same 2027 headline and an “Older” entry.
