A major grassroots rally in Ogun East mobilised support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola—known as YAYI—and other candidates of the All Progressives Congress.
Political organisations, artisan unions, market groups and youth associations representing all nine local government areas of Ogun East gathered to publicly endorse the APC ahead of the 2027 general election.

Activities began before the speeches at the stadium bowl, as YPM supporters undertook a solidarity walk spanning several kilometres. The march travelled through central Ijebu-Ode after setting off from Mobalufon Junction.
Participants chanted in support of Adeola’s record in the National Assembly, particularly his work as chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations. Drummers, cultural groups and motorbike riders headed the large procession.
Political leaders, lawmakers and council chairmen from across Ogun East attended the event. They restated their backing for Abiodun’s administration and expressed support for Adeola’s ambition to succeed the governor.
The YPM leadership also swore in more than 1,100 Artisan Ambassadors to strengthen its structures throughout the senatorial district. The appointees came from occupations including tailoring, automobile repair, carpentry and hairdressing.
Speakers called on supporters to maintain their support for Tinubu’s economic reform programme and for infrastructure projects being implemented by the Abiodun administration across Ogun State.
YPM convener Engr. Akintunde Armstrong said the Ogun East gathering was the first of three planned mobilisation events intended to build momentum toward the 2027 polls.
“We are declaring clearly that Ogun State is APC territory,” Armstrong said. “We will soon stage the same kind of rally in Ogun Central and Ogun West. This support is organic and will continue until all our candidates are elected.”
Adeola praised the scale of the grassroots turnout, saying it reinforced his confidence in what he described as a youth renaissance.
“I was amazed by the crowd that took part in the solidarity walk for our party, the APC,” he said. “I understand that some of you have been here since 7 a.m. The commitment that brought you here confirms that my faith in Nigeria’s young people has not been misplaced.”
Abiodun, while presenting APC candidates from Ogun East, said voters should support the party at every level of the ballot. He said Ogun State should deliver a united vote for Tinubu.
“We have promised our President 2 million votes, and not one vote must be lost,” Abiodun said, adding that he saw no opposition in Ogun State.
The rally was framed as a YPM mega mobilisation in Ogun East aimed at delivering 2 million votes for Tinubu, YAYI and other APC candidates. The event was listed as a newer item, with an older entry also indicated.
