Yayi Applauds CCM Grassroots Network Ahead of 2027 APC Victory Bid

APC governorship candidate Senator Adeola Olamilekan Solomon Yayi has praised the Central Coordinate Movement (CCM) for building grassroots support and organising party members ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.

Key takeaways

  • Yayi said CCM has the reach and structure to rally supporters across communities.
  • He commended CCM chairman Alhaji Taiwo Elewide, also known as Big Champion and Akile Egbaland.
  • APC support groups used a strategic meeting to discuss cooperation and campaign planning.
  • CCM focuses on mobilisation, advocacy and strengthening the party at community level.
  • Yayi called for unity and sustained commitment among APC members and supporters.

Yayi praises CCM’s political structure

Yayi made the remarks at a strategy session attended by active support organisations operating within the APC. He said grassroots groups would be central to improving the party’s prospects in the approaching elections.

He singled out Elewide for his leadership and persistence in working to secure strong performances for APC candidates seeking different elective offices in 2027. Elewide is widely referred to by the titles Big Champion and Akile Egbaland.

Yayi said CCM’s activities demonstrated how cooperation, shared responsibility and direct engagement with voters could contribute to electoral gains. He characterised the organisation as a strong political network capable of bringing supporters together in communities throughout the campaign.

The candidate added that the movement’s work would help promote the APC’s broader political agenda. He also thanked Elewide for advancing the party’s principles and said he expected CCM to remain an important component of the APC campaign organisation.

Support groups set campaign priorities

Representatives of several APC support groups attended the meeting, which gave party stakeholders an opportunity to consider campaign strategies, improve coordination and renew their pledge to work for victory in the 2027 polls.

Led by Elewide, the Central Coordinate Movement has continued to operate as an active grassroots platform within the APC. Its activities include supporter mobilisation, advocacy and initiatives aimed at developing the party.

Yayi urged APC members and sympathisers to preserve their unity and maintain their dedication, saying the party’s goals would depend on the combined efforts of its supporters.
