Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha welcomed their bundle of joy on Wednesday, 16 June. The new mom shared a snap from the maternity ward carrying their bundle of joy with Mapintsha beside her, with the caption: “Unkulunkulu emuhle njalo our beautiful blessing is finally here, inhlanhla yethu.!! #spontshi usefikile.”
The couple is also reeling with excitement as their brand new show reality show, Uthando Lodumo, is set to air very soon. The show follows the couple leading up to their traditional wedding. In the first trailer, Shimora reveals that they fell in love before they started making music together.
Mampintsha’s representatives can also be seen paying the Simelanes (Babe's family) a visit to ask for her hand in marriage. Viewers will get an exclusive look into the lobola negotiations and how much was the bridal price for Babes.
With so much going for them, the two love birds are still faced with controversy and negativity. Zama Gumede, Mampintsha's mother, is spitting fire again. She has once again come out to reveal that she is not happy with her son and daughter-in-law for shutting her out of their lives. Gumede is now claiming that her son has completely deserted her and she is without groceries and other essentials, as she depended on him for these things.
Mampintsha's mum has told Daily Sun that she did not even know about her grandchild's birth.
“I heard that Babes gave birth to a son. They didn’t tell me. I heard it from strangers. What I said on that video was true and I’ll stand by it. But if there’s really a son, I hope to see him one day and hold him as he’s my grandson," she told the publication.
All of this mayhem come after a viral video that saw the 65-year-old hurl insults at her daughter-in-law and the Simelanes. Zama Gumede called the Babes a liar who has been faking her pregnancies. She said that the Gqom' Queen is not really pregnant, claiming that her baby bump is nothing but sponges.
In response to these claims, Babes Wodumo hit back with the words "I am pregnant, whether she likes it or not." The 'eLamont' artist also made it known that she will be suing the pants off her mother-in-law for publicly shaming her and her family.
"I am going to press charges against her for humiliating me in public and for swearing at me. I don't understand why she is dragging my name in the mud,” Babes said.
Although she later asked for forgiveness, claiming that she wishes to make amends with Babes Wodumo as she wants to be in her unborn grandchild's life, it seems she has now gone back on her word because things are still sour between them. She might not like Babes, but if her son, Shimora wants to spend the rest of his life with her, then there is nothing she can do but to be supportive.
