In the trailer, Mampintsha reveals that they dated way before they started making music together. “We dated for a while before we got into music,” said Mampintsha.
There is also a clip where Mampintsha’s representatives can be seen paying the Simelanes (Babe's family) to ask for her hand in marriage. The letter was initially rejected and Shimora opens up about being turned down. We will also get an exclusive look into the lobola negotiations and how much was the bridal price for Babes (They requested 11 cows). We will also get an exclusive insight into their traditional wedding that broke the internet.
We only got to see a few snaps shared by Bongekile on Instagram where she thanked everyone for showing her support. ”Ngiyabonga kubo bonke abaphumelelile ngiyofasa ofindo lika sofa silahlane Sengingasho kugcwale umlomo ngingu maSimelane ogane Ka Maphumulo,” she posted.
The Wololo hitmaker also admits that his father is very strict and was worried he would give her husband’s family a tough time during the negotiations. Chatting to Mac G earlier n in the year, she said that her dad initially did not approve of her decision to be part of the entertainment industry. "The first time my dad saw me perform, he kept quiet and looked at me and asked what is happening? Because my dad is a pastor, I was always expected to do the right thing. I wasn’t allowed to smoke, drink or do any of that stuff. I was tired because I wanted to live my own life." She said.
In the same interview, she revealed that she met her partner at the age of 17 when she was a video vixen. “I met Mampintsha when I was still a video vixen. I was 16/17 years old. He’d always call me to check up on me and I ended up catching feelings. We will be surprising you guys soon - our wedding special will be on Showmax.” She shared for the first time.
The full interview is available on YouTube.
Uthando Wodumo will be streaming live on Showmax from June 30th 2021
