Babes and Mampintsha are in trouble again after a promoter took his story to the national papers. The organizer in question alleges that the troubled couple owes him around R80,000 after they failed to turn up to a gig over the new years holidays.
Seriously, when are we going to read some positive news from Babes and Mampintsha? It seems as if every time they make headlines, it's usually for negative reasons and it happened once again this week when the lovers were dragged in Sunday tabloids after failing to honour their word.
A promoter from Ladysmith in KZN has slammed the couple for failing to turn up to his New Year's Eve bash in January. While no-shows are usually a big no-no, the situation is made even worse by the fact that Babes and Mampintsha had already been paid R80,000 to perform at this New Year's Eve gig. Imagine!
The angry businessman vented his frustrations to Sunday World when he said,
"I've had enough of Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha. They failed to prioritise our event yet we paid them in full. We even agreed that since they claimed that they had too many gigs on that night, we agreed that they can come and perform early, around 6 PM on that day".
It was a disappointing series of events that led to the couple's cancellation. According to the promoter:
"Mampintsha called me and asked that they can be moved to 2 AM in the morning. Everything was going according to plan until they started ignoring our calls, WhatsApp and text messages. We had a tough time trying to understand that the car that they were travelling in broke down. DJ Sthelo was the one who rescued us. We want our money and we don't want to deal with them in future".
He continues to expose Mampintsha as the one who begged them to book Babes Wodumo despite the fact that they were not interested. This isn't the first time that Babes and Mampintsha have been accused of running off with money without sticking to their commitments.
Do you think someone needs to intervene in both of their careers?
