Bontle and Priddy recently became Mr and Mrs Moloi and staying true to their spirit of artistry the couple, whose stage name is Rick Jade, has released a new single titled Sweetie Lavo.
The song celebrates their most recent joyous moment, their wedding.
The new single Sweetie Lavo draws its sound from soundscapes that South Africans would recognize from old school wedding songs that are popular throughout the nation. You know those songs we get down and do the wedding step to? Priddy vibey right?
This is what each member of Rick Jade had to say about their newest release:
"The beat was still bare and in its infancy. I called Wichi 1080 to play him references to the wedding songs I loved most while growing up. We played Brenda Fassie, Joe Nina, Malaika and Mafikizolo. We were able to take certain nuances from these artists to make a 2019 wedding record that felt and sounded like an actual wedding song, not a rap or R&B song."- Priddy Ugly
