SABC1 presenter Luyanda Potwana has announced his engagement to Busisiwe Majavu. The couple is due to tie the knot in April.
Potwana, who is the host on Nyan Nyani also works as a consultant for Takalani Sesame, but he hasn’t always lived a glamorous lifestyle. Before landing his high-profile gig at the SABC he washed cars in Hillbrow to make a living.
The attractive Majavu is a born-again Christian, which Potwana explained presented some challenges. “Like in any other relationship, we also have challenges,” he told The Daily Sun. “She’s very religious so I had to teach her some things, but I love her with all my heart.
“I’m proud to be her first boyfriend and her fiancé,” he said.
Potwana added that his family were both shocked and delighted with the way things were turning out for him. “My mum is still in shock over the fact that I am a presenter after having had to live on the streets and park cars,” he explained.
“Now she has the added happiness of knowing that I will be marrying a good woman,” he said.
