The main break-out star of the South African version of the international reality television show Big Brother Themba Broly is trending once again, following his debut at the DSTV Viewers Choice Awards last night where he also presented an award alongside multi-media personality Boitumelo “Boity” Thulo.
Boity and Themba showed impressive professional chemistry last night when presenting the “Best Radio Personality” award from Johannesburg where the DStv MVCAs were hosted. Boity started by acknowledging the power and influence of Themba’s fandom “The Ghostnation” and how impactful they have been in his newly found entertainment career and overall media industry tenure.“Guys I just want us to give Themba a round of applause, he’s so shy and I don’t know why,” said Boity and further urged the Ghost Nation to show the reality star some love and make him comfortable during his first time presenting to a live audience and millions of viewers across the country.
Although he made a couple of mistakes in his announcement out of nerves, the fans acknowledged his charisma and went on Twitter gushing over how proud they are of the rapper and tattoo artist for gracing such a big media stage after coming out as runner-up on Big Brother Mzansi a few months ago.
Themba Broly however was not the only Big Brother Mzansi House alumni that graced the DStv MVCAs stage last night but the season 3 winner Mpho Wabadimo who is also fan favourite as well. Mpho Wabadimo co-presented the “Favourite Actress Award” alongside the number one radio show presenter in the country Thabo Molefe popularly known as Tbo Touch.
The duo also showed an impeccable synergy during their time on stage and even made jokes about the R2 Million prize money won by the Big Brother contestant back in March. Mpho Wabadimo opened her monologue with grace as she greeted all guests and paid homage to ancestors with the “Thokozani” salutation.
They both also gave shout-outs and paid homage to singer, songwriter, and dancer Makhadzi for an astounding season in the media and entertainment industry altogether.
Fans online have since been sending out their congratulatory messages to the new couple Themba and Mpho Wabadimo for forging their names in the competitive South African media industry simply from taking part in the third season of the Big Brother House TV show.
One Ghost Nationer took to Twitter commending Themba for always keeping it real, he wrote, “Themba was never fake. The Themba we saw on the stage was the exact Themba we fell in love with in the house. I'm so happy and proud of our beloved Themba.”
Another user noted the mistakes made by Themba on stage saying that it is acceptable and that seasoned broadcasters also have those days, she wrote, “Even the Best do make mistakes, so we can’t blame Themba, if a seasoned presenter like Steve Harvey could announce a wrong winner in Miss Universe, how can we then blame Themba for trying for the first time, so proud of him.”
Many other users also gave Mpho Wabadimo her flowers for a job well done at the DStv MVCAs that were hosted by Lawrence Maleka.
