On the third episode of Living The Dream, Palesa M let viewers in on her relationship with Somizi Mhlongo, saying she didn't know he was gay. All she saw, was a boyfriend who was famous for starring in Sarafina. She also mentioned how she did not understand the whole concept of being a homosexual so she had to learn as time went on.

She said Somizi's late mother Mary Twala and his sister, were the ones who first revealed this to her, adding that they told her to leave their baby, Bahumi, with them, so she could live her life.

Speaking to her nail technician, she said; “When I went to speak to Somizi’s mother and his sister, I remember Somizi’s mother saying ‘my child, you can see how Somizi is. He isn’t like other boys. Give us the child and go on with your life.”

“I had also just found out that he was gay and I had fallen pregnant with his child, you know? It was a confusing time of my life to understand what being gay meant. I think in my little girly mind, I thought I had a boyfriend,” she added. “I could brag about my boyfriend being a part of Sarafina whenever he came to see me,” she laughed.

Palesa then took it back to when Somizi did an interview with Cassper Nyovest on the Braai Show where he said she knew about his sexuality and was only testing him.

“Even the baby mama knows that when she told me she liked me, I told her I was gay. She said I was lying and she tested me. I decided to go for it and that’s how it happened,” he told Cassper.

But in the episode, Palesa said it hurts when Somizi would just lie about her, “What hurts me the most is that when he does his interviews or when I read somewhere… he would often say that I knew he is gay and that is false. When he says I knew that he was gay, how did I know such? Where would I have learned about homosexuality through him.”

The reality show has been a very interesting one as well with Palesa delving deeper into the traditional issues regarding their child. Palesa even said Somizi has not yet paid damages for Bahumi.

“He decided to go pay lobola and have multiple weddings without paying damages for my child. So, I just stood back and observed,” she said on last week's episode.

Even Bahumi touched on her father being in a relationship without telling her much about it, “I was hurt in the beginning of their relationship because my father kind of shut me out. He wasn’t really explaining anything to me. Not that he owes me an explanation but it would be kind, just put me in the loop,” she shared.

“Let me know that you’re getting married. To find out the way that I found out was very hurtful. Finding out that he was dating someone that is younger than me which was a first and he is bringing him into his life in a way that he hasn’t brought me in.”
