Generally, this past week was nothing short of bouts of sombreness in South Africa. The widely publicised story of 19 year old Uyinene Mrwetyana sent the nation into a state of frenzy.
Since then, women have come out in droves and shared their most personal sexual abuse stories on social media. Even a few local celebrities chimed in, such as television presenter Lalla Hirayama and Stylist Tshepi Vundla.
Tweeps applauded Tshepi for not cowering in the corner and being trapped in a state of victimhood.
There was one special supporter that melted a lot of our hearts in these streets - JR.
